Minerals of Conflict

Four minerals:
  • Tin
  • Tantalum
  • Tungsten
  • Gold
are indentified by the European Union as Mineral of Conflict, as the trade of these elements can sometimes finance armed conflicts, fuel forced labour and other human right abuse, and support corruption and money laundering.

Since 2021 the Conflict Minerals Regulation came into force in the EU to promote responsible sourcing of these minerals.
